EYELASH EXTENSIONS: EVERYTHING TO KNOW ABOUT

What does the treatment consist of?

The application of eyelash extensions is an aesthetic treatment designed to increase the length, curvature and volume of your natural eyelashes.

Trendy in recent years, there are two types of techniques used: the one-to-one technique and the 2D/3D/4D/5D/6D volume technique. The one to one technique consists in the application of an extension on a natural eyelash: in particular in the "Illusion" method, Flat extensions are used which have the characteristic of having rather large diameters (from 0.15 to 0.25) although very soft and the double tip . This allows you to simulate the effect of 2D volume, enhancing and intensifying your gaze! The result will be completely natural and suitable for all types of eyelashes.

The pre-fanned volume eyelash extensions procedure instead involves the thickening and lengthening of the eyelashes through the application of tufts with variable numbers of hairs from 2 to 6 with a diameter of 0.07 or 0.10, light extensions, but which allow rather quickly giving immediate intensity to the gaze, with a full but natural to the touch lash arch. In this case you will obtain a slightly less natural but glamorous result!

Who is the eyelash extensions treatment recommended for?

The treatment is aimed at all those who have healthy and resistant eyelashes, who do not present pathologies or allergies, to be reported in advance to the lash maker. It is essential to rely on qualified people who know the types of eyelashes to work on and any cases in which to abstain from the treatment.

The fundamental steps of one to one technique: why turn to qualified people

In the first phase of the treatment we proceed with the preparation of the eyelashes. We start by isolating the lower lashes by placing a special patch: the patch will help protect the area to be treated and prevent the lower lashes from sticking to the upper lashes during the treatment.

The eyelashes must be prepared before the treatment: we move on to using the Kalentin primer to clean and degrease them, using microbrushes. Thorough cleaning is of fundamental importance for the longevity of the treatment, ensuring perfect adhesion. After combing the eyelashes with a brush, it is best to inform the client to keep her eyes closed during the entire duration of the treatment, as pointed tweezers will be used.

Now we move on to the application: during application it is important to make sure that the natural lashes do not stick together. For this reason it is essential to carefully isolate them before placing the extensions. Working with your left hand (or right hand if you are left-handed), use the straight tweezer to isolate the natural eyelashes, then proceeding to isolate one eyelash at a time. Subsequently we move on to using glue (Kalentin offers a wide choice: from one second up to three-four), placing a drop on the jade stone or on the glue ring. Using curved tweezers, pick up an extension and dip it into the glue: the extension. It will then be applied to the previously isolated eyelash: once positioned, wait a few seconds before moving the straight forceps which isolate the eyelash you are working on.

At the end of the application, leave the client with her eyes closed without removing the patches for at least a few minutes, using the nebulizer. We then move on to the application of Kalentin sealant, recommending the customer to use it at home once a week. Once the eyelashes have been combed, remove the patches: the client will finally be able to open her eyes. It is important to underline the importance of turning to qualified and trained personnel to carry out this treatment, given the delicacy of the area to be treated and the evaluation and choice of the natural eyelashes to be treated.

What to do after the lash extensions treatment

It is good to follow a few simple rules:

  • in the 48 hours following the treatment it is essential not to wet the eyelashes (therefore avoiding saunas, Turkish baths, hydromassage tubs, swimming pools, tanning sprays, sunbeds and eye treatments in this period);
  • Eyelashes with extensions should not be curled with eyelash curlers or treatments, as this could break the glue bonds;
  • Don't use waterproof mascara. The use of the specific Kalentin sealant is recommended;
  • When removing make-up, avoid contact of the make-up remover with the eyelashes and the use of make-up removers, cleansers and moisturizers that contain oil;
  • Advise the client not to remove the extensions herself and to clean the eyelashes regularly to prevent any residue from forming at the corners of the eyelids.

How to remove lash extensions

As previously mentioned, it is essential not to remove the extensions yourself but to rely on qualified technician, who will proceed with the removal.

The Kalentin Adhesive remover gel or Coconut cream remover are excellent products used during the removal phase: once the product has been applied, leave it to act for approximately 10 minutes. Then remove the extensions using a microbrush. To remove any glue residue, hold the lashes between the tips of two microbrushes, combing them delicately from bottom to top.

How long does a eyelash extensions session last and after how long to repeat the treatment

The eyelash extensions treatment is a treatment that requires delicate and precise application: on average it lasts approximately 90/120 minutes, timing subject to variations depending on the manual nature of the technique, the methodology required, the removal of previous applications, the quantity of lashes to apply. Regarding the duration of the treatment, it is advisable to suggest that the client book a filling approximately 2/3 weeks after the treatment. There are factors that can affect the duration, such as medicines taken, hormonal characteristics, mistakes in using cosmetics or involuntary rubbing of the eye.

Pros and cons of eyelash extensions treatment

Through the application of synthetic eyelashes your gaze will be completely transformed. With this treatment you will no longer have to use mascara or other makeup tools for a duration ranging from 3 to 4 weeks: the duration depends on the natural condition of the eyelashes, correct maintenance and post-application care. The treatment has no real contraindications: as previously suggested, it is essential to contact qualified personnel who use professional products and who know the delicacy of the area to be treated, knowing exactly how to behave towards the individual client. A professional lash maker always ensures that the environment and work tools are clean and sanitized and that they have the right manual skills and safety. It is a good idea to report any eye pathologies: if the client has irritation, redness, disorders or diseases in the eye area, we do not recommend carrying out the treatment.

Are lash extensions bad for your eyelashes?

The eyelash extensions treatment is certainly more invasive than the eyelash lamination treatment. However, it is important to underline that the treatment, if carried out professionally with quality products, does not cause any damage! Any damage and discomfort caused by extensions could be caused by errors in the execution of the technique: for this reason it is best to rely on qualified personnel who have attended specialized professional courses. An inexperienced person could make your experience a nightmare: a lack of training can lead to unwanted results and incorrect executions.

What are lash extensions made of?

Silk, cashmere and velvet don't exist when it comes to extensions! These are commercial names given to extensions to describe their softness. With the exception of REAL MINK extensions, which are very expensive and rarely used, all the others are produced in hypoallergenic synthetic fibres, some of lower quality, others of higher quality. For this reason, be wary of anyone who insists on "selling" you eyelash extensions by telling you that they are made of silk, cashmere or velvet. Our advice? Request a written certification that declares the composition of the product itself!

The cost of eyelash extensions

There is no real answer to this question: the cost of each session varies depending on the needs and proposals of the individual operators of the center you are addressing. We again recommend that you only contact qualified people.
